2018. The first calendar year in our new home! I don't think I've ever painted so much in my life. And still have so much painting to do! As many of us do this time of year, I've been reflecting on the past year and set goals for the upcoming year. I wanted to share a few home highlights from the few months of 2018 that I've had this site and look forward to sharing our 2019 projects with you!
1. Launching Sunningdale Home in October!
One of my favorite moments of the year! You can read the launch announcement here.
2. DIY window treatments
This was the perfect addition to our kitchen! It gives the space a much needed pop of color without being too overwhelming. You can read about this project here.
3. Refinishing my old nightstand
My old nightstand was originally redone by my mom while I was in high school. It had started to yellow from years of sitting in a sunny window and was outdated. I used chalk paint to give it a refresh and used Hearth and Hand by Magnolia pulls.
4. Updating our guest bath
This took months to finish, but we love the end result! I started by painting the room Zero Gravity by Behr. The large, construction grade mirror was removed and I hung individual mirrors above each sink. Next was the hardest part-replacing the outdated lights. The person that hung the original lights did NOT do it correctly, but in the end it was fixable. The decor has a nautical feel. I hope our guests feel at home in the space! Leave a comment if you'd like a link to any of the items we used in the refresh!
5. 2018 obsessions: marble, rattan & tassel/pom.
Trends come and go every few years and these are 3 of my current favorites! More favorites will be featured throughout 2019. Check out the marble items here, rattan items here and tassel/pom items here.
